Ben Meyerhoeffer
I have had a fascination with woodworking ever since watching my grandfather build fine furniture as a kid. Pop, as I called him, specialized in a Chippendale style of furniture as he built from the 1970s to 2000s. I love the process of extracting beautiful pieces of furniture out of rough sawn boards. Wood has a connection to time and patience that many things do not. You cannot grow an 80 year old oak tree any faster than 80 years. Wood has always greatly intrigued me because in many cases it began its life before I began mine. This is such a unique characteristic that is not shared with many things in our life. I hope to build every piece in a way that honors the years it took for that piece of wood to land on my workbench. I make my pieces in Cross Keys, VA in a shop beside the house where I live with my wife, Kate, and our young daughter. Kate and I are active as youth leaders in our church and strive to bring glory to God in every aspect of our life.
